TICKFORD RACING ANNOUNCES 3 CAR DUNLOP SERIES ASSAULT AT ADELAIDE 500 EVENT
Tickford Racing’s development programme, Tickford Autosport will field three cars at the upcoming VAILO Adelaide 500 event in two weeks’ time. Young gun Rylan Gray will step in to the Dunlop Super3 Series for the round running number 55 in an FGX Falcon.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Gray (who turns 17 on the 21 November allowing him to run in the event), made note of the learning curve ahead of him, but remains eager to compete with fellow rising stars of Australian motorsport following his campaign in the Toyota Gazoo 86 Series where he has scored multiple race wins as well as a second-place finish in class at the 2023 Bathurst 6 Hour. It will be Gray’s first time at Adelaide; however, he hopes to lean on his Dunlop Super2 Series team mates Brad Vaughan and Elly Morrow who have raced there in previous years.
“I’m so excited to get stuck in and learn the streets of Adelaide,” Gray said. “We have had a programme in place throughout the year to help get me as ready as possible for this event and I feel we have learnt a lot and are in a good position heading into the season finale event.
“The car looks incredible; it’s going to be a massive weekend and the Supercar will be all new to me. I’m really looking forward to getting after it and seeing how we go. Now that the livery’s out and the car’s ready I just can’t wait to get behind the wheel!”
Gray has previous experience in Aussie Racing Cars as well as the Toyota Gazoo 86 Racing Series, where earlier this year he competed at the German circuit, Nürburgring, in a GT Supra GT4 EVO as part of the prize for being crowned the New Zealand Toyota Gazoo 86 Racing Rookie Champion.
Rylan Gray, along with team mates Brad Vaughan and Elly Morrow, will hit the track for their last test day of the 2023 season on November 14 at Winton Motor Raceway in preparation for the VAILO Adelaide 500; taking place 23 – 26 November on the streets of Adelaide.
